UVBee™ Beekeeping Jacket

While doing my last inspection of the season I aggravated one hive enough that the bees came out stinging. Despite being covered with dozens of stinging bees, no stinger penetrated my skin through my new UVBee Jacket or UVBee Pants. Not wanting to light my smoker because of the high fire danger today, I was able to calmly walk away and come back to replace the frame I had removed. More bees attacked, so I again walked away and came back to replace 2nd story brood box that I had lifted off. More bees attacked so for a third time I walked away and came back to replace the honey super and close up the hive. In this way I thoroughly tested the value of the jacket and it passed with flying colors. Even though the agitated bees followed me to the next 3 colonies I visited and all 3 of these colonies were agitated and flew out at me, bee was successful in penetrating my new bee suit. Although not one of the "triple layer" fabrics, I conclude that this suit is highly sting resistant. The suit is very well made and the designer has incorporated several conveniences. I particularly like the placement of the pockets on the pants and the shape of the veil. The deep cut around the neck allows me to look down and see clearly though the veil without the neckline fabric being in the way. The 4-way stretch is exceptionally comfortable and the fit is more tailored than can be achieved with the jumpsuit type. I love how easy it is to suit up with the 2-piece suit vs. my old 1-piece jumpsuit. Washing the set is also much easier than washing my 1-piece jumpsuit. I have no regrets about this purchase and would buy another one without hesitation.

I like the comfort of the jacket. I can put only the top if I need to go around and do little intervention or the whole suite. I like to use a belt so I have my tools at hand and there’s no place for bee to find a way in between the pants and the jacket. Service is amazing and very fast answer by the owner. Recommend highly

I purchased the pants and beekeeping jacket. I was hesitating on purchasing a bee suit because as a short woman, none of them fit me. Here in Hawaii, there are a lot of mosquitoes, and after hearing Mandy speak at an event in North Shore at Hanai Hives I decided to purchase my first bee suit. I was so excited when the package came in. There was so much thought on the packaging, and I loved the attention to detail. My hat and long hair always had an issue with getting caught in my veil. I had no issues in this jacket. I like how the pants and jacket are separated because I get dressed in my car at the apiary and need to be well suited because I’m a Vegas buffet to the mosquitoes out here. Another bonus is that I do not use leather gloves. I use kitchen gloves when I go beekeeping, and it wasn’t until I was in the middle of opening my medium that I realized that the sleeves were adjustable with velcro where I can actually slip my kitchen gloves underneath the sleeve as opposed to putting the glove over the sleeve. This worked out so well because the velcro secured my gloves tightly. When I would open the hive with loose kitchen gloves in a regular suit, I thought maybe a bee would sneak into my kitchen glove and would sting me out of fear. Don’t have to worry about that anymore! I’m so pleased with this store that I can’t wait to purchase more items.
